Mount Carmel, Illinois – February 1, 2024. For Immediate Release.
On top of recently taking on a new role at work, Michael Slunder, Purchasing Agent, also has a very busy personal life. In addition to his work responsibilities, he has been coaching wrestling in his free time for the past 10 years. This season, he has been serving as a high school and middle school assistant coach for the Princeton Tigers. Slunder decided to pursue coaching after being inspired by his own wrestling career, “I was a former wrestler myself and a true believer that nothing will prepare you for life like the Wrestling Life will. So, my son Grant and I joined the Princeton Elementary Wrestling Family when he was in first grade and have been a part of it ever since!”
Throughout his wrestling journey, Slunder has been involved in coaching his son’s teams. He has held several positions with various wrestling organizations, including a former elementary coach, former elementary coordinator, and former travel wrestling coach. Sluder’s team this season is shaping up well. He continues to make sacrifices to stay involved in wrestling because “it is something special to help another person look deep inside themselves, discover a previously unknown strength or tap into unique potential and then grow and develop into someone who can pay it forward to help others! I’ve also had the honor of being my son’s coach for all 10 years of his career which has given me some of the proudest moments of my life.
