Service Technician Position Available

Immediate openings for highly motivated Service Technician with a desire to work in fast paced, quality centered environments. Position requires 75% travel to service customers worldwide.
A. COMPANY DESCRIPTION
75+ year old branded OEM of hydraulic machinery. The Company designs and manufactures highly engineered hydraulic metalworking equipment used in a wide array of industries and applications. The Company generates ~$12 million of revenue, of which ~65% is from the sale of new capital equipment, and ~35% is from the sale of aftermarket parts and technical services sold to the installed base. The Company benefits from a reputable brand name in the industry, resulting in the opportunity to continue to capture incremental share in a large addressable market. We are investing in refreshing product lines to address a lower cost/higher volume section of the market and look forward to continuing this activity moving forward.
B. POSITION OVERVIEW
Service Technicians position requires a desire to work in fast paced, quality centered environments. This position requires 75% travel to service customers worldwide, primarily North America and routine overtime as necessary.

Key Responsibilities of this position:
- Service all equipment to operate at its highest efficiency
- Install new machinery
- Install Upgrade/Retrofit packages on existing machinery
- Maintain safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
- Electronically log and maintain records and details of in-field service work
- Consistently communicate with members of the Service Department to ensure all members of the team are kept up to date on service issues
- Occasionally complete assigned tasks to aid in the manufacture of Pacific equipment
- Provide technical phone support to customers as needed and directed by the Service Manager
- Develop understanding of all Pacific PLC and HMI equipment
- Develop understanding of Pacific Hydraulic systems
- Educate customer operators and maintenance staff on proper maintenance techniques and procedures
- Conduct operator training on operation of machinery
- Gather intel from customers to strengthen customer and Pacific business relationship
- Develop successful and beneficial relationships with customers
This position reports directly to the Service Manager.
C. REQUIRED SKILL SET
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Advanced Manufacturing Certificate, Millwright Certification, or a similar certification in a related technical field required.
- High mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient use of personal computers including Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to work at variable temperatures (both indoor and outdoor scenarios)
- Must be able to work in tight or elevated spaces
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, or climb
- Must have the physical fitness and strength to lift items up to 50 pounds solo
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to obtain passport for foreign travel
D. OTHER POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES (NOT REQUIRED)
- 3+ years of relevant maintenance technician experience or relevant technical field
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic issues, servo-drives, hydraulic and pneumatic pressure systems
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Knowledge and experience in:
- Electricity
- Fluid Power
- PLC’s
- Pumps/Motors
E. COMPENSATION:
- Hourly Rate: $28 – $31 Hour based on experience.
